Downloading Bobber App

The Bobber app is available to download on the Apple store and the Google Play store.

Creating an Account on the Bobber App

In order to maximize the use and functionality of the Bobber app, we recommend that all users register for a free account. The only information required to set this up is an email address, a verification code (provided during the registration), and a user password.

Users will have the option to explore the app without registering an account but will not be able to take advantage of the vast majority of features (e.g., hotspot management, diagnoser, etc.) until they have created an account and linked the app with their Helium account.

IMPORTANT: A user DOES NOT have to login to the Bobber app to link their Helium Account and add a hotspot, however, they will not have access to any of the hotspot management or remote troubleshooting features found within the Web Dashboard.

Where is the setup button for new miners? The helium app now says you have to use bobber app for set up. There does not seem to be a setup function in the bobber app????

I'm also having issues setting up a new miner. There is no where in the bobber app to setup a new miner and the   app makes you use the bobber app. In the app, if you tap hot spots you get a message saying "Something went wrong. We are having problems fetching your hotspots due to an API or network outage. Please try again later"

I checked the helium status website and all things are operation on their end so clearly the issue is with the bobat app.

Same issue as above. I just received my first Bobcat 300 and am trying to setup my first hotspot. The Helium App sends my to Bobber App, but there is no obvious place to onboard a new hotspot. Hotspot button at the bottom of screen gives me an error message.

I read a workaround on Reddit. One user recommended using the Helium App and selecting any other Hotspot from the dropdown list. Then once you get to the Bluetooth pairing, just pair your phone to the Bobcat300 and it'll setup like usual. Just need to make sure you also change the antenna dropdown to Bobcat 300 4dbi. Sounds like this should work in bypassing the redirect to the Bobber App until they fix the issue.

Attempt workaround at your own risk... I'll respond again if I learn more.

Successfully registered my new Bobcat 300 last night using the workaround I mentioned above through the Helium app. Took about 12 hours to register. Good luck! Hopefully this is resolved through the Bobber App soon!

Timothy Brady,  Can you please send a link to the reddit forum/thread.  I looked for it today and the obvious r/bobcatminer300 most recent post was a while back.  Also  Which miner did you choose for the work around?

Will Bobcat support respond to this thread???

    Thanks

After waiting for 8 months, I finally got my Bobcat. The instructions on the box and any existing sources is obviously  useless now as you have to add your hotspot through Bobber app now. But like many mentioned above, you only see "Something went wrong" "We are having problems fetching your hotspots due to an API or network outage. Please try again". Switching API doesn't work. Miner can't be link to phone via bluetooth. Very, very fustrating!!!

Please tell us CLEAR instructions hot to onboard our miner.

Same boat here. 8month wait for delivery! 5-12wk delivery my @ss! Actually 32wks. Not really surprised the instructions and app is worthless. FFS Bobcat step up your bloody game! Don't see why all the youtubers are praising you.

How to add a miner in the bobber app.

In the bobber app, choose hotspots on the bottom. Then in the top left, choose the big plus sign. Then you can walk through on boarding steps. Good luck getting out of relay mode.

I have linked the Helium app to my account but still cannot create an account on bobber app. One of my miners is not working and I was trying to diagnose why. I have already sent the report to support but heard nothing back yet
